when two become one

we know that the west and the east are very different as two big part of the world. you find it difficult to adapt when you used to live in different part of it, some cultural shocks you may encounter when you visit the other. but, we realize it or not, that what makes us want to know more; the difference.

I live in some place of the east part just name it Indonesia. I think it’d be very great if i can visit other countries that of course, very different from mine. it can be the language, the culture or even the ideology.

talking about the culture, there are so many places of interest of my country that be a tourism place well known. Bali, Jogjakarta, Bandung, and more. You may have known Pura, Kecak dance, Candi, Gamelan, etc. we have batik with various motif and the making technique with canting. We also have some architectural sites, just like Borobudur and Prambanan that become the world inheritance.

It’s also nice to know that some cultures or (even) ideologies were brought to Indonesia. It has been continuous since colonialism era by westerner. In architectural field, we find out some styles; Baroque, Rococo, Gothic, new Gothic, etc.

Yesterday there was fashion show with “Wedding Open House Unforgettable Moment” theme (radar malang, 28/7). flora motif in lower part of gown, puff sleeves, and wrinkled chest are Victorian characteristics.

On the other hand, there are some westerner attracted to wear batik and to play Gamelan. The eclectic of the two may occur in many occasions
